My only issue with 2 is the top left hand side where the colour washed out. The portrait orientation of one would suit it

I thought the same but the room given to the left of the rocks in two makes it a more pleasing image compositionally - as soon as I saw 1 I thought it needed more room up there, 2 delivers that, but the washed out sky takes its place. 2 edges it for me, nice shot,
