Straw Stooks prepared and ready to be sent out to local Thatchers for roofing purposes. I headed to this field in the Vale of Pewsey this morning with Matt Franks to shoot sunrise. We were hoping for some mist, but sadly we didn't get any. A nice morning none the less with some lovely colours.
Heading back out in half hour to try it at sunset.

Have never seen a thatcher field, so its good to see something I've never seen before. Looks much better in flickr where I can see a bit more detail

Nice enough but I'd be tempted to slash off a bit of the sky to do away with the 50/50 horizon line composition.

Much prefer the new image Jake.
Much nicer composition.

Hi Jake
Yes i like No2.... Now thats something you dont see much nowadays! Stooks!
If its for thatching there is no point waiting for the Threshing Machines to turn up;)

Like the composition in 2, and a nice sky.

Thanks Steve! Yep a rare sight these days! I've never seen a field before!

Agree I think #2 is better, lovely delicate light and I like the touch of flare from the sun too. Late summer captured :)
