Has anyone had any problems with this set up?

Just recently my flash goes bonkers when used on the hotshoe.
it will be fine for a bit (maybe 10 frames) then goes nuts, firing bursts of flash on its own.
Very annoying and its got me to the stage that if I am shooting something important I dont trust it, I'll use the CLS (which works fine btw)

any thoughts on this? (grays have said I can post it back to them, i may just wait until I come back over)
 
maybe try rubbing the contacts on the hotshoe and the flash, could be something dodgy there?

make 100% sure the flash is seated right... check with another iTTL flash if possible to see if you're having the same problem...
 
Hmm, I only have 1 flash, but I did notice my ebay wireless commander was iffy, I thought that may have been the cheapness coming through!
 
This might sound silly, but are you locking the flash in place securely on the hotshoe? You used to get something similar with the old "Ebay" triggers and the SB-600 where there was a bit movement between the flash and hotshoe, causing the connection to make and break.
