Hi, took this during my last visit. It was taken at midday using a flash on a lighting stand with a coloured gel on outside. I know I have cut the top off the arch (need to pay more attention). Unfortunately I ran out of time to re do it, but will be going make to re try. this was more of an idea and a go at seeing if I could do it, so any help on improving would be gratefully received.

you got the same results i did John when i did a interior church window shot..
i tried to lighten it and got all that noise again
the first one is better...and the lighting more spiritual
i would crop it a bit to get rid of all the darkness and concentrate on the window

cheers

thanks for taking the time to answer Geoff. I was trying to get the light pools on the floor. Perhaps I should try again when its not so bright (midday in summer).

black to white is an improvement
but if you want those pools of light...you may need to wait till the season is better for the angle of the sun...

cheers
geoff

your right, when I took these the light was coming in from the other side of the church. So I tried to do it myself using my speedlight outside the church. to make my own sun.
