Evening all

Was browsing ebay and came across this which it says in the listing is a rebadged 60D. Looking into it it seems to be used by opticians http://usa.nidek.com/images/img-afc.jpg.

Would it still work as a normal Digital SLR or is it modified for the use of opticians, it does say in the listing :unique 18.0 Megapixel digital EOS camera that was developed by Canon for its retinal cameras, for best possible ophthalmic imaging.

Had never even heard of it knows a bit more info?

They look the same though unless there is a slight differance which I havent noticed?

It might be the same basic camera, but looking up the actual manual for the camera reveals that it has additional modes built in for specialised ophthalmic uses to reveal details that ordinary colour images can't. I imagine it probably also has a different UV/IR cut off filter built in front ot the sensor as some ophthalmic imaging relies on looking in the infrared spectrum.

As far as I know Canon have done similar cameras for years as I get my eyes photographed every year to check for retinopathy, and they use a very similar set up just with an older Canon 30D.
