I think I'm happy with this shot of a sunlit dome with a ferry pushing through a squall a mile offshore. Then I look again and think, maybe not! It's different (I think), but is it any more than that?

I'm :thinking: thinking that the ferry detracts from the shot.
Hold your finger over it and see what I mean (you've not got edit ticked so I wont).

..... Actually I'm convinced the ferry detracts.
 
Thanks for your thoughts on this one Paul. What I couldn't make my mind up about was the big contrast between the sunlit parts and the dark, rainy area. Sometimes I think it works - sometimes not. I'd waited for the ferry to come into shot, so I was OK with that, though I must say the effect of focus and rain makes it look like a painting!!

Second the motion ;)

I'm finding my eye bouncing between the the dome and the ferry and as the ferry is OOF its not that comfortable. As Paul has said, without the ferry its an interesting and nice capture (y)
 
I like it - I actually think the gulls and the white spots (more gulls?) on the beach and in the water take away more than the ferry does...

EDIT: Just tried it - I think it works...
