An unfortunate Dung Fly that has become infected with the fungus Entomophthora muscae. Infection is always fatal but the fungus alters the flys behaviour before it finally expires. The fly will land and then crawl to the highest point it can and stay fixed there until dead. The fungal spores then have the greatest chance of spreading widely and landing on a new host as they are released from the dead flys remains.

This is an in camera stack of fifteen images taken in natural light outdoors.
