F-86 Super Sabre

One of the first jet fighters to enter service with the USAAF in any numbers, the Sabre borrowed it's shape from the Me 262 when the American's evaluated the German aircraft after the war.
This example is sadly destined to go to America after the current UK airshow season.

BTW it's a Sabre, the Super Sabre was the F100, was longer, sleeker, and could do Mach 1 in a dive.

Your quite right dapprman, should have realised as there's an example in the American Museum at Duxford!

I was going to say, there's been rumours of more departures at DX after the P-47 and I read this and my heart sank. Then I saw it was from '09. Rumours never change, eh?!

Number 8 is very nice
