First attempt with smoke

I've always had a facination with masquarade masks and recently bought this one to try something new. This is my first attempt with smoke. As is usual for me (and probably other people as well) what I saw in my minds eye wasn't quite what I managed to get, and to be honest, after spending many hours today I don't have any ideas how I can improve on it. I saw in my mind a darker and moodier image with denser smoke, yet still being able to see detail in the mask. I used two incense sticks to provide the smoke. What do you think? Can it be done, if so how? Thanks for looking.

I think the picture looks good. I think May have been better if there was smoke on the other side too not just the left and behind the mask maybe instead of infront?
