Hi all, I would like to do some landscape photography but don't really know where to start, we have some amazing scenery around here in the valleys, any advice
Here's one I took last year

I'm far from a great landscape photographer, but here are my tips...

1) Aim for interesting lighting - sun low in sky, warm colours, or alternatively cold, dark, moody, wet shots.

2) Get something in the foreground to add interest - the shot above is nice enough but doesn't really draw you in. Often you need to get the camera low to achieve this - could be as simple as a stone in foreground - makes the viewer feel they are there, and more involved in the shot.

3) Lead peoples' eyes through the photo with hedges, rivers, paths etc going into the shot.

4) Don't assume landscape = wide angle. Pick out details with telephotos.
