First photo of Flower

Hi All
This is my first attempt at capturing a flower with my new camera
had to post process a little to get the backround as i would like
And were wondering what are your thoughts
I quite like it but then i took it so am looking for some constructive criticism

a cracking bit of photographic work and good pp
burn out the pot in the lower right..just as a slight mod

Thanks for the encouragement
i have only really been playing for a couple of weeks
and not quite sure how to burn in with NX2 yet, still on the basics of exposure , saturation etc.
should have moved all the rubbish out of the way first !

My wife informs me it's a Pink Lilley ?

Love the Image

One of the names given to this lily is Starburst

but you have to look to the infernal net to get any latin name

Hi Neil, nice shot but could do with being a bit brighter and the lily would probably look better on it's own.

It's actually one of the most highly scented lilies and called a stargazer, just make sure you chuck it out before it dies off too much or it can smell like cats pee

I know what you mean about being a bit brighter but i had to make it that dark to remove some of the rubbish in the background, it was a bit of a grabbed shot late in the evening without any prior preperation and needed processing to get it the way i wanted but still is my best shot to date
