First Pre game of the season & first shoot for me

Golden rules to obey - crop nice and tight; show the ball; show faces, especially the player on the ball. Works with most sports.
 
Think the core picture is there, but seems to be a bit of noise with people that are not needed. Cropping will make a big difference.

What lens did you shoot this with? I always find the balance between shutter speed & aperture a difficult balance correctly
 
Hi I used a Nikon 70-300 AF & had the D7000 set on Shutter Priority of 1000 & over, I have cropped picts 1 & 3 at home but not sure on cropping of 2 & 4
