Focus Stacking

Hi,
had another muck about today, the wolf spider obliged and I got 8 photos swaying in and out handheld. Just using the defaults on a Zerene trial.

Thanks, these little guys are so obliging on our gravel out the front. I take a cushion out and get comfy, within 5 mins they all start coming out again.

You can see the artefacts created by the software around the edges. When you are going to stack, you are best having your subjects well inside the frame, as Zerene (and CombineZP) will always create those marks at the edges. If you leave enough space, you can then crop inside the artefacts for the perfect finish.

Excellent stack. Whenever I try to photograph the wolf spiders, they just run like crazy at about 2million mph (comparative).

Or use an image (layer) where is is correct for that part. As Paul mentioned make sure that subject is well in the frame usually centrally composed.
