Thought I recognised that lens! The gear that young chap is using is older than he is! The only AF reflex, and one of the few 500mm lenses you can easily carry around just in case.

Wow it's a mirror lens - incredible to see them again though quite a few journalists used to use them back in the day.

The boy was shot at the Openday of the Dutch Airforce. Not a easy one.Had only my heavy 2.8 300mm Nikon lens with me. This is about in its minimal focus range.
His Mom,Dad and Sister all had a camera,Mom and Dad a digital Sony.
(young) Sister a pocket camera. They keep it in the family so to say
