This rather kind but small spider stayed very still for five or so minutes so with camera in hand here are four of them.

Way to much flash on this one but somehow I like the out come from a complete mistake.

I'd say you need more depth of field on those. f8 or f11 and diffuse flash if there is not enough light.

Your overflashed one looks like quite a good arty/abstract version :) but the others just look like they need more light to get better DoF and detail. I have tried long exposure macros myself and never had one that I'm happy with - least not on anything that is alive or outdoors.
