I've found butterflies to be the hardest insect to photograph. They're very crafty and disappear at the sight of me approaching with a camera, hats off to anyone who can get this close and get a shot off with a flash (which I presume it is because of the darkened background). Nice work

Yes it was a flash
I think the secret is not to chase the butterflies but to let them settle and wait then move in
2 in 10 seem to respond to this but not always the way you planned it
