I have the the tripod above and want to buy a ball head for it (my pan/tilt quick release clamp is broken) but does any one know what size the mounting thread would have to be on the head to match the legs please?
I have seen a head that has a 3/8 screw but the seller says it won't fit the 9351, I thought that was the thread size so now I am lost.

I had a similar issue with the thread on the tripod mount being smaller than the size needed for the bottom of the head I wanted to use - just got an adapter like this http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/...m=A3P5ROKL5A1OLE&pf_rd_r=0GJMG1F8WBD8D6PAC20D

Thanks and I understand where you are coming from but I need to know what size my tripod thread is before I can buy any adapters. The thread is definately bigger than my camera thread which is why I thought it was a 3/8. The head I want to buy is 3/8 but they say it will not fit. I am at a loss now.

From a review of the tripod and head at what digital camera, a snip from about 2/3rds way down...

"........ It's worth noting that the head mounting thread on the tripod can be switched between ¼ and ¾ inch allowing for a wider range of alternative heads to be fitted. One small ......"

Which head are you looking at ?
 
It would be very unusual for the tripod not to have a reversible stud, 3/8in on one end, 1/4in on the other. And the head will be 3/8in, usually supplied with a 3/8-1/4in adapter.
