Hard subject at night? A Millipede!!!

Damn these things are so shiny shelled it is I reckon almost impossible to get a photo of them at night time - meaning flash! And they don't stay still, despite their apparent slowness they just keep on bloody moving!

Still, never one to let an opportunity go by - I still went for it!

Lovely work Paul. I really like the first one with the eye like that and the very low angle. It portrays a lot of character. I also really like the texture and colour of the carapace you have captured in the last one.

I don't know why. but Centipedes always make me jump when I turn over a rock. Millipedes seem much more friendly :)

Are you placing a card behind for the background?

The whole set looks overly pink to me... the wood doesn't look like wood.

But you have done well with the shiny subjects and the shots are very detailed and very good as per usual.. just the WB being way out IMHO
