Here are some random photos I've been processing recently:

Enjoy,

Me thinks B is THE shot here, it's a cracking shot with the reflection of the other 2 hawks, said it before and ill say it again, your a lucky bugger lol (y)

Really nice set Paul, it's great that your colleagues flights are captured for posterity. I'm sure he / she will appreciate it. Great images ax ever.

Cracking set as always Paul!
2 & 6 are my favourites and I also rather like "b" too (y)

Thanks for the positive comments everyone. The air to air shots were taken during the same sortie that we worked with HMS Illustrious - you can see the difference in the weather between 19000ft and 1000ft over Wales that day!

FOST Thursday War ?

Since the FAA have lost their Sea Harriers we have to rely more and more on the RAF I'm all for inter-service cooperation :)

So glad that a) I am not in your seat and that b) you share your shots with us. What a lovely set of images for your retiring (?) colleague to see.

Of the other set, it's a tough choice between #1 and #2 and since I don't have to choose, I'm not going to! I like #1 for the seeming simplicity with the added extra of the perfectly placed nose spike (who says everything should be on a third?!) and the HUD and #2 for the well placed reflection of the escorts.

Thanks again for the sharing.

Friday war this time!!

Actually, the boat was transitting the Irish Sea to take part in Ex JW. We have an RN pilot on Sqn and he set up the sortie with Illustrious. They controlled us for one intercept an and then used us as targets (simulated!) for their air defence systems.

War Canoe, grey messenger of death, ship ! ...... not a boat, please ! :)

When we were working with Freddie upstairs I referred to it as both 'boat' and 'ship' (much to the consternation of my back-seater!) Thankfully Freddie didn't seem to phased (he probable refers to a Hawk as a 'plane' - my pet hate!!)

;-)

War canoe is pretty good though!
