Yes
recently i dropped my d200 the body cracked the camera still worked
i was paranoid about soft images but it was ok i think
so i made an ins claim the camera had a sb 900 on top as i dropped it
the sb 900 failed to fire intermittently
the d200 has clear damage
2 weeks later the ins co sent a specialist to look at the camera
clearly he didnt know what he was looking at
1 week later it has to be sent to a specialist 1 week after that
they say the camera is repairable and the flash is a ok
clearly the flash isnt ok
and how can the d200 be repairable?
surely a new body and labour is pricey?
im concerned they are just going to wishy washy repair the body and send it back?
i asked for a quote for the repairs which they cant give me? yet they can tell me the camera is repairable? funny that

any advice im getting no where fast here

b.t.w tsb ins are a nightmare it seems all they want to do is wriggle out of the claim and not pay up

al i want is my mint d200 as it was before the drop or a replacement as per my ins contract

if i drive up and knock an ins co guy out how many years will i get?

heeeeeeeeeeeeelp!!!

Maybe check with Fixation -- looks like it is £100-£200 plus parts for a major repair of a pro body, though I don't see major repair prices for D200s.

It would obviously depend on what part on the camera is cracked, what spares are available and how much a replacement would cost (D300?).

many thanks
