Heron - Kelsey Park - Edit Added

Shots of a heron in flight at Kelsey Park.
In the fist one he was banking so I could get the "above the wing" shot.
He was about 150ft away so a bit of a crop.

1) Cruising – the cleanness shot I have managed so far

Sigma 150-500@500 F8 1/800s ISO200

2) Coming in to land

Sigma 150-500@500 F8 1/640s ISO200

3) Landing – one foot each side – ouch!

3a) Landing - Darkened Highlights, Slightly Sharpened

I like the third shot, though I would try and do something with the highlights, an a tad sharper would help. Well caught.

Thanks Trex500 for comments I have added Image 3a) I have:
* Adjusted the highlights but seem to have lost some contrast, if I up the contrast the highlights get brighter
* Sharpened it as far as I dare before the halo effect. As you can imagine the Heron was flapping about a lot which I think account for some of he "softness".
