Heron & Swan

Having a play with my new lens at work today as the weather is nice and were not busy

Resident Heron

Resident young swan

Really happy with the 70-300 vr lens, lets me get nice and close to the subject.
Still a huge amount to learn with the camera and photoshop and still have the camera in Auto or one of the preset features more often than not

The Heron is a very nice image ... ... could do with a little more space to its left but a lovely shot ...


Not so sure about the immature Swan though ... ... the exposure in the last is not quite on the money imhgo ... :shrug: ... compositionally they are not too bad though ...

Heron is a great capture,well done, agree with Ven about the Swans though

As a newbie then, what's wrong with the exposure of the swan ? Could it be the levels I've altered in PS?

Sorry for the questions but keen to learn and finding lots of usefull info and some great secondhand gear on here
