St Leonard's Downham in the Isle.
Looking at some of the old Baptism Registers in church the other evening. How many of our digital records will be readable in 2336?
This is a page for 1676 - my kids would say - when I was a boy.
We have had 50 incumbants since obout 1200AD and this is our first Lady Vicar!

Would have expected some strange script for something that old but it is quite readable. Handwriting went downhill towards the end

Change of scribe after 1676 - I may be able to see if it was a different priest or curate as not many able to write in a village at that time. The King James Bible of 1662 would be new fangled at that time and Lancelot Andrewes who did most of the translation for it lived in the village in the old Bishop's Palace.
