How many incarnations of the Sigma 135 - 400 are/were there?

I've been offered one of these lenses and have been told it's a few years old. It looked mint when I saw it briefly. Can't remember what the numbers and letters are on it so was wondering how many 135 - 400 models there are. When were they introduced? Still being made? Are they any good? Thanks in advance for any replies.

I never got as far as buying one but I did try one for a day
and can understand why you got rid in a hurry.
