Hunting Kestrel

Took these this morning at Farlington Marshes, definitely my best bird photographs so far I think. Saw the kestrel catch some kind of small rodent but it went too far away to get any good picture of it feeding with my 70-300mm. I was thinking how badly I wanted the new 150-600mm Tamron at that moment.

Can't do much with the jpegs, but

lifting the shadows about +30
exposure a tiny amount
contrast maybe +20 and the blacks a very little
then be careful of the colours
and deal with the head as a separate exercise
will work wonders on the first three images

starting draft illustration but you can do a lot more with the original file
