It's a close-up shot rather than a macro shot Tom.
Macro means getting a 1:1 life sized imager or larger on the sensor (or film) so that the potential for enlargement is enormous. You can only achieve this with a true macro lens designed for the purpose..Don't be fooled by zoom lenses with a 'Macro' setting' - all they give you is the facility to focus a little closer than normal.
Nice enough shot though. We get hundreds of these round us after the rain - it's bit gross when you step on hem.
