Iceland Gull

Here's a shot I managed whilst steaming up the St Lawrence river heading out past Quebec, Canada.

We where followed by a bird watchers dream,
A large flock of Iceland, Glaucous, American Herring Gulls and a single Ivory Gull.

Poor picture to posting, but I thought people may be interested.
Weather conditions where -19*C, 70mph winds right in my face and battering through ice flows.

This is a NW Canada breeder (Kumlieni). ID'd by the dark Grey primary feather.

One day and 4 lifers, yahoo.

Sounds like you had a good trip.
Brrrr - my record is -17C in anchorage - with my coat locked in the plane hold after a forced overnight stop.
Good contrast between the sea and gull. Pity look like the camera has focused on the sea.
