Industrial Sunset

This is the original pit wheel from Wearmouth Colliery, on which Sunderland Football Club's 'Stadium Of Light' now stands. The backdrop of an old crane, a remnant of Sunderland's ship building days against the setting sun, emphasises the end of both of these industries for Sunderland and the dawning of a new era of car building and call centres. I hope you like it.

Great silhouette. I like how the quarter of the wheel is stuck in the lower left corner and that "natural" black border at the border of the frame.

I like it as all above but find the bird?(think it is) centre of shot distracting

Thanks for the comments. I tried removing the bird but felt the photo lacked something afterwards. Its all down to personal taste and I appreciate any comments regarding my images.
