Good Evening Ladies and Gents,

My first post here so hopefully i've done this correctly.

Here's a picture I took today while out on a walk - appreciate any feedback both good and bad.

Shot with my D7000, 17-50mm Sigma F2.8 and a three stop ND filter.

Thanks,

David

Hi David, and welcome!
Yes you have done it correctly... I guess the point of interest here, reading between the lines is the reflection and bridge. If so, the water isnt still enough to kill the shot. It is normally the case that blurred reflections dont work too well (I know i have had many attempts trying to make something that is average look good :(). Even slower shutter speeds dont work. There either has to be a mirror like reflection or not, (You cant make it what its not) and i think for this sort of shot to work it has to be mirror like..... IMHO. I never seem to be able to get those mirror like reflections either!

The only way i have ever got it right is to go back to a location when the conditions are right. (Which is generally a cross between pot luck and planning).

Hope this helps a little bit
Cheers
Steve

hi David and welcome
thats a decent entry shot and i guess you have used a camera before
is clear and crisp
what i dont think would have been necessary is the ND idea
the river might be more alive if shown without any long exposure
cheers
geof
