Just a quick one from a shoot I did last week. I’m quite new to portraiture due to a lack of willing models in the past, but it’s something that I find very enjoyable to shoot, so hopefully I’ll be doing more in the future.

I think you have made a good start there but I find the blown out areas behind the model distracting, but considering the difficult lighting there you have done very well. Also try and avoid horizontal lines intersecting the models shoulders and mid- torso.

Cheers, the blown out background was what I was going for, maybe it doesn't work quite as well in this photo as it does in the others because in the others she was wearing a black jacket that contrasted nicely against it.
