Very nice you might want to try a higher speed to freeze the wing movement - although of course you might like it as it is.

Yes, had a play with that but the light was poor and pushed the ISO too high. So I stumped for the wings showing action instead. :)

Mallards rising out of the water and flapping can be surprisingly hard to capture. Good stuff.

Thank you. I fairly quickly worked out that where they start dipping under the water for a wash, within a few seconds they’ll rise up to flap their wings. So I simply kept an eye out for those that were dipping.
