In hindsight I should have used a smaller aperture due to how overkill the blur is at the top and bottom, but I do like the effect through the keyhole due to using f2.8

Indeed a smaller aperture could have helped but getting the the right position to have the surface right in front of the camera will help as it'll keep your subject in the plain of focus

Thats not the inner lock mate, thats actually blue clothing about 2 feet behind the door. I used them to get a solid blue colour which I could add luminance to in Aperture 3 on my mac to make the effect quite eye pleasing. Was a rather interesting effect if I say so myself!
Noted on the aperture though, I'll have another go tomorrow and see what happens.
