Late October Dragonflies

The dragonfly season is on the decline now, but on sunny days Common Darters can still be found resting on light coloured surfaces such as fences, leaves and in this case concrete steps. I found this mating pair today (25/10). Thanks for looking.

Brilliant Mark, I was amazed to still see some recently, they have chosen a odd place to mate. Maybe exhibitionists.

Awesome, still finding them late in the season and they are still at it! Not so keen on the background, but it does show interesting behaviour in that they head for the light surfaces.

Had a few high winds recently so I was checking the Barn roofs yesterday.

November 27th - was warmish out here - but still surprised to see a Ruddy Darter sunning itself on the roof tiles
