Lens advice - trip to Borneo

I'm off to Borneo at the beginning of March for a couple of weeks, hoping to get some wild orangutans amongst other things. I'm a little unsure of what kit to take though so if anyone has any advice/experience that they're willing to share, that would be great!

I currently have a 7D which I'm reasonably happy with and my go to lens of the moment is my 70-300mm L. I've also got a 100m f2.8 going with me. I'm concerned that the 70-300 is going to be lacking in amongst the trees so looking for something with a bit of reach but a decent aperture. I'd also like something a bit longer than 300m for birds and other wildlife where there's a bit of space. Would a 400m f5.6 cut it?

Alternatively, upgrading the 7d to 7d2 should allow me a greater ISO range so will compensate somewhat for the lack of aperture.
