With all this wonderful weather recently, I found a field of Linseed so the plan was to photograph it at sunrise today. Up at 03:45 and in place by 04:45, and true to form , grey skies and cool enough for me to put on a jacket. Needless to say, it was a fruitless sunrise. I did notice, however, that the Linseed needs a few more days to come into full flower. I'll return next week with renewed apathy ha ha.

Nevertheless that is a very pleasing image :)

If you were to go to this field at 2pm today it will be in full flower.
It drops off at end of each day I believe.
I've since been told that the crop is NOT Linseed but Borage. Apparently used in toiletries. Now that you have brought this to my attention I'm going to shoot off now and have another go.

Hello Jake, I went back this afternoon and the un-opened flowers were STILL un-opened so I will go again next week.

Some great colour and detail there , would be nice to see a couple more of them open but looks fine as it is.

Cheers

Steve

Lovely photo but it's not Linseed, it's Borage. Used for the cosmetic industry. I wouldn't leave it too long before you photograph it as they are about to harvest it down here.
