Went to London yesterday, used a cheap digital camera, the pics havent come out as good as they have been uploaded on facebook resized and then taken from face book to photo bucket I just haven't had the chance to upload the proper files, so the quality isnt as good as the originals, but have a look and let me know what you think.

This is a pic of me taking a pic

I'd say it is obvious they were taken with a cheaper camera, do you have an slr you can work with instead?

The quality of camera isn't the problem here, a half decent point & shoot will take good quality photos. As long as you know how to use it and apply a few of the general rules that people pass on through this forum.

Not exactly.

You can't achieve great dof with a point and shoot for example when taking portraits. There's only so much you can do with a compact before you need to go to an SLR for the extra quality

Hi indigo

As others have said you have posted too many in one go, which means you will struggle to get individual help on each photo.

Whilst compacs have their limitations you can still take good photos with them.

I'd say think about the framing and the composition. What makes your photos stand out from an ordinary snapshop? Are you thinking about the effect your are trying to achieve before taking the photo? Taking a picture of a nice building does not make a good photo (though it can help!).

Out of your series I prefer the B&W of Tower Vridge towards the end.

But of crouse remember the most important thing is if you like them that's what matters more than anything - this is all very subjective!

Good luck and get out and keep taking pictures.
