Macro switch

Hi all,

I have a Canon 70-200mm f2.8 and I've always wondered what do the macro switches do. What setting should I have on as default and also in what situation would I use each setting? or use the setting to my advantage.

I'd be interested to know, because I own about 50 Canon 70-200mm f/2.8 lenses and I don't think any of them have macro switches. What did you Google?

Wonder if Jim meant the focus limit switch - 1.2 m to infinity and 3m to infinity ?

That's the one Andy. Sorry for any confusion...I didn't know what to call it as I never hear people talking about. I guess I just assumed it was something to do with Macro (I'm not sure why)
