There are a few about at present nesting etc, but caught this one sat on the neighbours aerial

Is this a big crop? It looks very soft. As often happens with black and white birds (esp. against a bright blue sky!) the picture is underexposed as well. Next time try to get closer and use some exposure compensation as necessary to get the bird correctly exposed.

I just shot this one using the 100-300 lens to be honest and have done nothing to the pic.

cant remember what setting i had this on now, but it was one of the auto settings on the 350D

I shall have to play around more with the camera, but thanks for the tips
