Beginner Mandys first go at smoke art

I thought i would invest in some incense sticks and a holder from good old ebay so i could have a go my self at some smoke art. I took hundreds of images given it was my first try at it and this is one off my best ones i had to play with.

I did my first smoke photos yesterday. How did you get all the different colours in there? It's a great effect.

Thank you i did it in photoshop inverted the image and the selected gradient fill and chose a colour selection and played about with the settings. Then back in LR 5 for finer adjustments.

Looks like you have the technique nailed Mandy, so now it just boils down to your PP work in order to tidy it up e.g. remove loose bits of smoke etc and then transform it using your imagination.
Its the one time you can let your mind run free in photoshop

Thanks for the comments i am just about to have a look at some images i took tonight to see whats usable.
