Minolta 50mm 2.8 macro

Brazo mentioned a Minolta 50 mm 2.8 macro and I found one at a place I get used lens.
It comes highly recommended.

Will it work well with my Sony A100?

I have read some reviews, and the price seems reasonable, but how easy is it to use?
Do I still have to get within a foot for a Macro shot?

Does anyone else have this lens, and have any points they are free to share? Yall' have
any sample pictures taken with this lens?

just look on dyxum
if you need longer working distance go for a longer lens, 90mm or higher

I'd be looking at minimum 90mm too. Tamron 90mm f2.8 is excellent.

It will work on your sony a100 and will effectivly become a 75mm full frame equivalent on your A100.

As the others have said longer reach macros are generally prefered for insect work but even these are needed to be within afew inches for 1:1 work. I use mine as an ultra sharp general purpose lens.
