Critique MSA Rallycross Grand Prix - Croft Circuit, 19th October 2014

Excellent set Daz, and some well thought out and executed compositions some of which I haven't seen before.

Cheers,

Simon.

I don't normally critique photos so I will give it a go for you.

#1
I do like

#2
I know you have the flame but I am not a fan of the photo as they look really awkward in the frame for me.

#3
I like

#4

As I said in Graffix's B/W thread I do not like circuit racing in Black and white but for me this works with the dust being kicked up and the clouds.

#5

Background puts me off this one.

#6
Im not a fan for the same reason as number two.

#7

Like it works really well.

#8

Well caught on the flame.

Having a look through your flickr for me I would say you have alot stronger images in your flickr stream.

Was the bloke alright in this one, the crash barrier looks quite low so did the car go over?

Thanks for the comments guys.

Re: the startline crash. The drivers were both fine. The rolled car landed on its side and then more or less rotated on the spot rather than continuing to roll, it competed in the next race for that class. The green one had a lot of frontend damage so it ended up on a trailer for the rest of the day.

I used to love the Rally-X GP when it was at Brands on surely one of the best Rally-X tracks ever ? Still that was years ago now and it is good to see the sport still doing well. #7 is the stand out shot for me, 1 & 5 show typical classic rallycross action, I want to like 4 for the idea but something is missing ?
