New York - Added a Few More

Again, I cannot add anything to what has already been said. Photographs are all really well executed, and I hope when I get the chance to go to NYC that I can produce images as good as these. Typically what lenses did you use, because obviously you travelled, and curios to know what lenses people are travelling with.

Great shots. It's an amazingly photogenic place. I remember walking around and thinking every street looked like the set of a Woody Allen film!

I tried to get the same view point as you in the second photo you posted but it was about minus 18 degrees C wind chill as I was there in January. My hands nearly fell off when I was up the Top of the Rock!

Great shots and I have been back home a week and still havent gotten around to checking the 700 images I took. Cannot think my images will be anywhere near as impressive as yours.

Did you have much trouble with security at the ESB?

Every time I rested my camera on the ledge I had them hounding me to take it back in side the railings even though the camera was still attached to my neck!

In the end I had to use my wife and two friends to act as look out, even then I got caught and got into an argument in the middle of a 60 second exposure :)

Still well done to you and for the BB one in particular as its pin sharp and it does seem to move a lot

Thanks again everyone. To answer a couple of questions; the only lenses used were a Sigma 10-20mm and a Nikon 35mm f.18

I had no trouble whatsoever at the Empire State Building and it seemed like everyone was doing what I was doing.

in post 1, where is picture number 2 taken from? I have seen loads of images of similar scenes with those wooden posts in the water. Wish I managed to grab pics as good as yours.

Fantastic set, I dont normally venture into this area of the forum often but felt the need to comment on your wonderful set of shots. This is one place I must visit.

Thank you! The view of Manhattan with the posts in the foreground is from Brooklyn Bridge Park.

Thanks. We walked over the bridge, but didn't have a chance to stop. Wish I had known before we went :(

Hi I'm off to New York in a month or so just need a bit of advice about using a tripod and I believe you need a permit to shoot in certain places

No tripods in the likes of the Empire State Building or Top of the Rock. No problems taking photos there though.

Just come back from New York in the last week. Your pictures are amazing so much better than the efforts I managed! You seem to have got every shot very sharp. Mine look no way near as good but then I didn't help myself by taking a new camera and having to settle for auto mode to save the other half getting frustrated!

Looks like a cracking trip. #2 is really very good. I don't recall seeing that view before, which is an achievement in itself in New York. Good timing with colour in the sky and the lights on at the same time.

What can I say apart from WOW! Simply amazing shots and I can only aspire to be as good as you one day. Very well done indeed.

Thanks for the latest comments folks. I'd definitely go back with my camera. The place is photo porn!

Beautiful images. Image number 2 is a brilliant location. I follow paul reiffers work on social media, his shot from that location was a real wow factor for me.

Great effort!
