lots of distractions in there...to support a portrait its best to eliminate as many background and edge details which pull the eye away

Prefer the first picture, second one looks abnormal in the coat, dogs do not shine that much.
 
I can see what MrCrow is trying to do - as the background in the first pic is distracting - especially the lights of circle to the right of the dog - but agree that it's 'overdone' and the coat doesn't look right!

Thankyou not done much in the way of post photo touch up need to learn(y)
