Critique Not your average bee

Hi all, can you give me some feedback on my snap of a bee - I am new to photography and would be greatful for any feedback.

Welcome and it looks like you have the exposure and focus spot on however it is a little too central. For this shot I would look at a portrait crop rather than a square.

As you are new I would look into the rule of thirds and composition to give you a good starting point. (Even though its a rule it is not hard and fast as everything in photography)

I would also add that the bee doesn't stand out well enough against quite a cluttered BG. Try and get the bee in a single flower so your focus is where it should be (ie on the bee).
