Oleander Hawk Moth

That's a really nice moth, John ……… must look it up ………..did not realise moths fly so far

"Daphnis nerii is a large hawk-moth found in wide areas of Africa and Asia. It is a migratory species, flying to parts of eastern and southern Europe during the summer, particularly Turkey."

the image seems to lack a bit of something, sharpness? - is it a big crop or just a little OOF?

That really is a beaut moth.
I think its a tad OOF with the leaf behind getting the focus I think.
Still, its a lovely colour and shape.

Thanks for the comments, it is the full shot no crop but probably a little oof (had a tractor bearing down on me so rushed the shot a bit lol)

They are beautiful and big, the caterpillars are a sight to behold as well :)
