Panoramas/Collages/Stitches

Hi
Would welcome info on my workflow for panoramic shots.
I assume I'm better off taking the initial shots in Raw but after that am undecided if I'm going in the right direction.
This is my workflow
Capture images in Raw (14 bit depth)
Batch process in PS to 16 bit Tiffs (1200 pixels on the longest side and around 800 on the width) for more manageable files.
Stitch in Autopano Giga
Edit in LR or PS (highlights, contrast, sharpening etc)
Save the Tiff and also save a Jpeg (srgb) for web use etc.

Can anyone see any problems with this?
Thanks

Hugin does a much better job at stitching the photo. If you look closely enough at the Photostitch version, there's some repeated areas where the segments overlap. However, Photostitch produces a less distorted image overall.

What am I doing wrong in Hugin?
