Dungannon Park waterfall in County Tyrone. Shot this afternoon with the Pentax K20D & the Tamron 10-24mm lens.
I took two exposures, 1 for the sky and then the slowest shutter speed I could get for the water which was 0.3s. In Post Processing I copied the waterfall layer over the sky layer in Photoshop and selected the blown out sky using the Magic Wand tool and feathered at 250 then Cut the sky away to reveal the properly exposed sky below. The only problem with doing this was that the top of the trees in the sky are also dark unlike the bottom part.
I'd be interested to hear what other people would have done in this situation?
