Hi everyone,
So I'm new here and the reason I've registered is because I'm looking for sources from the photography world for an article I am about to write. Hopefully I'm posting in the right forum area, please redirect me if not.
I'm currently a trainee journalist/freelancer. As well as this, I am an amateur photographer and usually shoot all of my own article photography.
The article I am about to write is for a major dissertation project at university, although anything we write we usually pitch out to established publications/magazines once it has been marked, as long as it is still relevant. It will focus on how photographers, amateur or professional, are adapting to the Covid-19 lockdown. I am sure there will already be threads discussing this, but I am after quotable sources to share their experiences directly with me, hence the individual thread.
Anyway, if anybody is willing to share their story with me and potentially have it published I would love to hear from you below and then hopefully we can set up contact either by email, chat, skype etc.
I would also love to see and use some of your photography, if you're happy to do so. Everything would be credited fully as long as I have written permission although, being a student and all, I can't pay anything.
The kind of questions I will be asking are as follows:
- What type(s) of photography do you specialise in (street/portrait/weddings etc)?
- How are you adapting professionally, if applicable/relevant?
- How are you adapting from a hobby/passion perspective, are you still out there shooting different things for fun that you wouldn't normally shoot?
- If yes to the above, what are you shooting now?
- How difficult/serious is the Covid-19 situation for professional photographers and why?
Let me know below if you're interested. Hope to hear from somebody soon.
Peter W
