My first go at capturing horse racing (point-to-point). I'd be interested to hear your comments. More pics of the day can be found on my flickr.

20 odd views and no comments, crazy.

A fave, No.

The set is solid.

Well done.

Did you crop the close ups of the horses jumping? They don't look quite sharp enough. Agree with above though. Decent for a first attempt.

Yes some were cropped, some only very slightly though.

#2 and # 7 are my favourite.

I like the boarders used. Might start doing that with my pics as well.

Mmm tricky set this. Do any stand out for me - no.

But the set as a whole really tell a story for me. They really capture the essence of PtoP racing. Everything I dislike about it actually. So you've raised an emotion there which means you've done something good with your set!

#1 really is close to being very good. Great composition, action and faces. But it's a little blurred or something. Can't see the Exif so can't offer any more constructive comments.

Here's the main data for that photo:

Exposure: 0.004 sec (1/250)
Aperture: f/11.0
Focal Length: 109 mm
ISO Speed: 400
Exposure Bias: 0 EV
Flash: Off

I'd be really interested to know if you can pick up anything that would give you any suggestions for me. I still feel like nearly every photo I take (not just the point-to-point is only marginally better than a 'snap'. I know I'm early on in terms of my learning, but I don't feel I do a great deal better than I did at the outset sometimes! Are there any notes on any of the other pics that point to why each pic doesn't stand out?
