The damselflies are lovely

I use flash most of the time as I shoot macro in manual and like to maintain a small aperture to keep depth of field

Same for me , use flash most of the time 1/250 f8 at -1 1/3 on my Sigma ring flash.

I've only just got my Sigma so not played with many settings, but I found the exposure is correct @ 1:1 and above - but if I move away and reduce the magnification it becomes over exposed

Use it when you need it.

So in bright sunny conditions, and an f11+ you may need it... but then again not? Oh and keep the iso fairly low (100-200?)

Very nice pics you've posted. I like the furry bee with pollen/dust on.
